About the teacher
My name is Scott Harrison, and I have the privilege and responsibility of working with the BEST students in the Memphis area. I have taught advanced sophomores in the English Language Arts classroom since 1993.
My wife is an educator as well, and we have four children, all of whom have attended White Station High School. As a parent, I recognize that my students must balance responsibilities at home, at school, at their places of worship, at jobs, as well to athletic or academic teams, to Scouting groups, to performing arts groups, to service groups, and to the many other extracurricular organizations.
I believe in a wholistic, liberal arts approach to education: classroom environments that encourage personal development and critical thinking, that foster inquiry and discussion. Workplaces prepare their workers for jobs; educators prepare students for sentient, thoughtful living.
